Upcoming appearances

Clarendon’s Past Comes Alive

On Saturday 18 June 12pm- 3pm the official opening of the Historic Hall Museum is one to put in
your diary. With Peter Goers (ABC Radio presenter) at the helm, see members of the Victoriana
Society of SA in period costume, a historic display from the Clarendon CFS (also providing a yummy
sausage sizzle). Pick up some home grown produce from the Clarendon Primary School’s garden
and take home some of their own cooking, see a demonstration of apple packing and of course
see the items on display in the museum. Watch footage from the 1946 back to Clarendon 100 year
celebrations including the opening of the Memorial Library and the School’s playground. There will
local books on sale and a raffle to support local community groups.

The museum (once opened in the 80s), has been brought back to life after Tracey (who was recently
elected president of the Historic Hall Committee), approached the committee two years ago with
the idea. Along with nine committee members and a partnership with the Clarendon Primary School
the local museum will be opened on Sunday afternoons by the children and their parents. This will
give an opportunity for visitors to Clarendon to stay for the day and explore its historic past. So if you
can’t make the opening come visit us on a Sunday (open dates will be listed).
